It's early March and the snow is piled up deeper around the sides of the greenhouse than the trouble I'll be in if I don't keep my seed planting on schedule. As much as I try, I cannot control everything. A tour last summer of a commercial greenhouse in Michigan revealed some answers as to why we place orders in September and don't find out we won't be getting what we ordered until the time it is scheduled to arrive. By then, it's too late to find a substitute. Well it has to do with anything from politics to bad weather. As a result, there will be some disappointed shoppers this spring when they don't see trailing begonias on our shelf, but sometimes blessings are disguised and a substitute turns out to be an improvement. Who is to say? Half the fun in life is discovering something new and we hope you have fun this summer.
